If you have a vinyl floor you may be able to install your flooring directly on top of it. For concrete floors you might consider a concrete sealer to protect the surface from moisture and wear. If you are carpeting a single room you can put the furniture in another room but if you are doing an entire house or floor you may need a garage or storage space. Follow up with a light vacuum using the vacuum s floor attachment. Use a paint roller to apply it to clean primed concrete. If you are unable to get enough help from friends or neighbors or if you have health problems you may want to hire step 2 vacuum the carpet. If you want to.

If you have minor damage to your wood subfloor from pets or spills it s a good idea to brush on some primer sealer over these areas to seal in odors and protect your new carpet.
