Cleaning Plastic Garden Solar Panel

This spring i decided instead of replacing the old solar yard lights and try restoring the plastic cells do to oxidation.

Use terry cloth towel to dust off all of the dirt. How to clean the solar panels fill a bucket with warm water and mix just enough mild detergent to work up a bit of a lather. Do not use any other cleaning agents like bleach as this will damage the surface. Wipe the entire plastic solar panel down in a circular motion. Simply use clean water and a cloth covered sponge or soft plastic brush. Scratches on a solar panel can create shadows and affect efficiency. Rainwater is low in mineral content but some people have hard water or mineral rich water from the tap.

This should get a majority of the surface dust off of the solar panel. Fix that cloudy plastic covering the solar cells by coating it with a thin layer of clear nail polish or a spray on clear lacquer. Use a garden hose to spray water all over the solar lights. A few easy maintenance steps can help clean cloudy solar lights.
