Allow the wax to freeze for about 10 minutes making sure that the wax isn t getting wet from your ice pack. The freeze and pick method. Start by placing a plastic bag of ice or an ice pack on top of the spot. Heat an iron to a medium setting with no steam and press the iron to the paper bag directly over the wax. Run a warm iron over the paper or cloth to heat the wax. Keep your towel or bag in a manageable size because you will be moving it around a bit.

Whichever method you choose will depend on your preference and what items you have to hand. It s important to remove candle wax from your carpet as soon as you notice it. The longer you wait the harder it will be to clean the wax stain. Cut the paper bag or paper towel to the size of the spill.

Spread a clean terry cloth or brown paper e g. Stop as soon as you begin to see wax seep into the paper. Dampen a white cotton towel fold it in half and place it over the wax. Using a warm iron slowly press the iron on top of the paper bag or cloth.

Press an iron set on high over the towel for 10 seconds. Change to a clean paper and repeat until you don t get any more up. Run the iron over the paper keeping it in constant motion.
